What do you need to use Skype for calling cell phones?

 You download the Skype program and register with the service in order to be able to call within the US and Canada for free.

 Dud.  Why not just use your phone?

No, I have a cell phone, so I do not need to use the internet to make calls.

Plan to study vigorously this weekend and next.

-In school?

I will pay attention to all review sessions and review old notes when the teacher gives us time in class for personal review.

-At home?

I will look over all of my old assignments, but not too rigorously.  I do not want to overload myself with school work and cramming.

•  They are hiring a chief security officer, Hemanshu Nigam, to monitor and uphold the the laws and terms of use of the website.  They have also increased their staff to screen sites for objectionable content.

Why?

•  They are trying to calm the concerns of parents and nonprofit organizations about what kids are putting online these days.

Do you think it will make a difference?

•  I don’t think it will make much difference because there are so many profiles already and more are created every day.  There are just too many to keep account of.

•  EDS is buying MphasiS shares in an Indian outsourcing firm.

Why?

•  The Indian programmers are willing to work for less than those in the US.

What affect(s) will this have on US computer programmers (developers)?

• They will have to balance their skills in programming with business cources while in college or be willing to work for less money in order to compete with the programmers in India.
